These hand-colored florals were drawn and engraved by C.T. Rosenberg, who had an affiliation with publishers Thomas Moore and William P Ayres. Rosenberg's engravings are featured in at least three publications during 1850-1852:
• "The Florists' Guide and Gardeners' and Naturalists' Calendar" ( 1 volume, 1850, 12 plates)
• "The Gargeners' Magazine of Botany, Horticulture, Folriculture and Natural Science" (3 volumes, 1850-1851, 100 plates)
• "The Garden Companion and Florists' Guide" (1 volume, 1852, 20 plates)

Some of Rosenberg's more colorful engravings from these publications were further published in Charles Lemaire's "Le Jardine Fleuriste ..." series, and in the very rare folio edition of "The Illustrated Bouquet ..." produced by the famous and elusive "Miss Sowerby" of the Sowerby engraving and publishing family. When used in these publications, the plate numbers changed, and:
• in Lemiare's "Jardine Fleuriste" (1851-54), the author's name and publisher were removed and a short name added after the plant name
• in Sowerby's "Illustrated Bouquet" (1857-64), the plates were enlarged to folio (10" x 14")

The lines in the background are in the scanning and not the prints. They are hand-colored and finished.
